How Food Can Affect You
Natural and Alternative Therapies
Renovating the House
This time the carpets are coming out
and being replaced with more natural healthier choices
that will produce less dust.
Then maybe I won't need so many drugs
to help my lungs keep breathing.
In the kitchen he'll install lino
in the living room and bedrooms new cork floor.
He'll do it alone with only the help of his son
while I stay with my sister till he gets it done.
The redecorating is starting again
yet it seems that we just finished the last round
about a month ago.
We had a lift installed so I wouldn't fall
while going up and down the stairs.
We had thought that would be enough, but it wasn't.
He put in ramps last month
leading to the front and back doors.
One running down from the patio
straight onto our kitchen floor
new railings that were not there before.
He laid a brick pathway leading to the garden wall
just so I could get out
get some sunshine
and move about our yard.
When he is done the floors he'll start on the bathrooms
and work there till they are done.
He'll install glimmering steel hand rails within a new tub
a special one, just for me.
He does these things
so I can be here with him.
Precious moments stolen
from an illness that attempts to take me away
as he continues to renovate.
And he will redo our home time and time again
So he can have his wife keep living in her home.
and in his arms at night
and by his side throughout the day.
Dining together by candle light
quietly discussing our many thoughts.
Our laughter and our hearts eternally joined.
He tries so hard to keep me for as long as he can.
I guess this is what we call love.
